Ce l’ha fatta. Alessandro Petacchi è riuscito a compiere l’impresa di conquistare la maglia verde, simbolo del primato della classifica a punti del Tour de France: l’unico italiano in verde al termine della Grande Boucle era stato Bitossi nel 1968.
Grazie a due vittorie (Bruxelles e Reims), due secondi posti (Bourg les Valence e l’ultima frazione a Parigi) e tre terzi (Gueugnon, Revel e Bordeaux) che hanno fruttato 243 punti, Petacchi ha chiuso la classifica della maglia verde con 11 lunghezze di vantaggio su Cavendish e 21 su Hushovd.
L’ultima frazione, la Longjumeau-Parigi di 102,5 km, è stata vinta da SuperCavendish, con Petacchi bravo a conquistare il secondo posto davanti a Dean. Petacchi ha corso con la sua nuova Cento1 SL, naturalmente intonata al colore della sua maglia. la nuova versione del modello di punta di Wilier Triestina non poteva avere battesimo migliore!

Alessandro Petacchi is green. Alejet has conquered the green jersey as winner of the points classification of  the Tour de France: the only Italian cyclist that completed the Tour in green was Bitossi in 1968.
With two victories (Bruxelles and Reims), two second places (Bourg les Valence and Paris) and three thirds (Gueugnon, Revel and Bordeaux) Petacchi could reach a total of 243 points and preceded Cavendish of 11 points and Hushovd of 21.
The last stage, Longjumeau-Paris of 102,5 km, was won by SuperCavendish on Petacchi and Dean. Only Cavendish was faster that Alessandro, but the green jersey is more than a victory for Petacchi and for his brand new (and green, of course) Wilier Cento1 SL.

Ecco il Petacchi dei tempi migliori, il Petacchi che esce di scia a 300 metri e vola in una fantastica progressione fino al traguardo, con gli altri che provano ad affiancarlo e puntualmente rimbalzano indietro. La sua fiammante SL gialla non poteva trovare miglior consacrazione.

A insidiargli la vittoria c’erano proprio tutti: nessun “se” e nessun “ma” per via delle cadute. Nella sua seconda vittoria a questo Tour Alejet ha battuto Dean, Boasson Hagen, McEwen e Hunter.

Here’s the Petacchi of the best times, the sprinter who starts his progression in the last 300 meters and goes on flying till the arrival. All the others tried anything to beat him, but they just bounced back as soon as they got the air on their faces. Petacchi’s brand new SL couldn’t have a better consacration.

Alessandro Petacchi ha atteso sei anni per tornare al Tour de France e nella 1^tappa del Tour 2010 (Rotterdam-Bruxelles) ha tagliato il traguardo con le braccia al cielo, portando in trionfo la sua fiammante Wilier Triestina SL personalizzata.
Il velocista della Lampre-Farnese ha preceduto in volata Renshaw e Hushovd, conquistando la quinta vittoria in carriera al Tour de France.
Lo sprint finale di Ale Jet è stato preparato in maniera perfetta da tutta la Lampre-Farnese, con gli uomini blu-fucsia abili a pilotare Petacchi in un finale caratterizzato da alcune cadute; sul lungo rettilineo finale, reso insidioso da una leggera pendenza ascendente e dal vento contrario, ha impostato una volata molto lunga, riuscendo a resistere ai tentativi di rimonta degli avversari.
“Sono tornato al Tour è ho vinto subito: di più non potevo chiedere – ha commentato Petacchi – Devo ringraziare innanzitutto i miei compagni di squadra, i quali hanno svolto davvero un ottimo lavoro per permettermi di rimanere nelle prime posizioni del gruppo e di evitare così le cadute. Sapevo di stare bene dato che ieri ho avvertito ottime sensazioni nel prologo, così deciso di iniziare lo sprint da lontano, rischiando di venire respinto dal vento contrario, ma questo non è successo e ora posso festeggiare questa vittoria, dedicata agli sponsor del team che hanno creduto ancora in me”.
Alessandro Petacchi ha conquistato anche il comando della classifica a punti (35 punti, 5 in più di Renshaw).

Alessandro Petacchi has waited six years to come back to the Tour de France and success came at the first attempt on his brand new customized Wilier Triestina SL. In Bruxelles he preceded Renshaw and Hushovd, and picked up his 5th win in career in Tour de France.
The final sprint was arranged in a perfect way by Lampre-Farnese, all the blue-fucsia cyclists were perfect in supporting Petacchi and allowed him to avoid the many crashes that featured the last few kilometres. On the final straight (light ascent, frontal wind) Petacchi started early his sprint and resisted the overtaking attempts by the opponents.
“I want to thank my team mates, who performed an outstanding stage in my support. I knew I was good because yesterday I had good feelings in the prologue, so I decided to start the sprint early despite of the wind. This victory is for all the team sponsors”.
Alessandro Petacchi is also the new leader of the points standing (35 points, 5 more than Renshaw).

Una settimana dopo la visita di Alessandro Petacchi, anche Damiano Cunego ha risposto “presente” all’invito rivoltogli  da Wilier Triestina. Il capitano della Lampre Farnese ha accettato di buon grado la proposta di condividere con i rivenditori Wilier una pedalata fra i colli trevigiani e qualche ora di relax. Nella foto, Cunego alla firma degli autografi per i suoi numerosi fans.

One week after Alessandro Petacchi’s visit, also Damiano Cunego has joined the Gastaldello family and Wilier Triestina’s retailers  for a bike ride among the Treviso hills and some hours of relax with a joyful company.

In the picture, Cunego is signing autogtaphs for his numorous fans.

Susanna Zorzi vince su Wilier Triestina il campionato italiano su strada juniores. Due giorni prima aveva vinto anche la prova a cronometro. Complimenti Susanna!

Una giornata con Alejet, prima in bicicletta sull colline asolane, poi a pranzo nel verde della pedemontana trevigiana. Grazie alla disponibilità del campione della Lampre Farnese, Wilier Triestina ha riservato questa opportunità ai propri rivenditori spagnoli e francesi, ospitati inItalia per la presentazione delle nuove biciclette. Dal canto suo, Alessandro Petacchi ha approfittato dell’invito della famiglia Gastaldello per trascorrere alcune ore di relax dopo le fatiche del Giro di Svizzera e prima di iniziare la preparazione specifica per il Tour de France.

First a bike ride on the Asolo hills, then all together at lunch with Alejet, just in front of the wonderful mountains: it is the present that Wilier Triestina gave to its Spanish and French dealers, who came to Italy for the unveiling of the news bicycles. Alessandro Petacchi seemed to enjoy the invitation received by the Gastaldello family and gladly spent some hours of relax after the hard fight of the Tour of Switzerland and before starting the specific training for the Tour de France.
